Two figures walking in an abstract landscape (2020) Medium: Watercolour and pencil on paper Size: 42cm x 29.7cm (unframed) This work was inspired by a family bush walk in the Royal National Park. It was a beautiful and quiet morning and I remember walking on the Curra Moors Track and watching my children walking along the track surrounded by giant trees. I had a moment of terror at the thought of these girls being lost and alone in such an isolated place.

Adelaide on a ferry looking up at the Harbour Bridge (2022) Medium: Mixed media (watercolour and pencil) on paper Size: 14.85cm x 21cm (unframed) Late Saturday afternoon after spending a lovely time at Luna Park, we caught the ferry back to Circular Quay. For those who have been lucky to make this trip, there is a point when you are directly under the Harbour Brige and you are overcome by its size and presence. This work depicts Adelaide experiencing this for the first time. It was cold that day and being on the harbour made it just that little bit colder and all part of that beautiful memory.
Coffs Harbour Windmill (2019) Medium: oil on canvas Size: 25.5cm x 25.5cm (unframed)
Looking across the Shoalhaven River from Coolendel Campsite (3 January 2024) Medium: watercolour and pencil on paper (sketchbook) Size: 14.8cm x 10.5cm (unframed) We went camping for the first time as a family and stayed at Coolendel with some friends. Most of our time was spent by the river and I loved staring at the bank on the opposite site. My eyes were fixed on the red hues of the rocks.
Garden corner with Mango tree (2022) Medium: Ink on paper Size: 21cm x 29.7cm (unframed) Drawn on a sunny afternoon while out in the garden. This corner of the garden has a mango tree that has produced one average mango so far during our time here but still, it’s a tree I enjoying looking at.

Harbour Bridge from Walsh Bay (2022) Medium: Ink and water on paper Size: 21cm x 14.85cm (unframed) This is one of those spectacular views of the Harbour Bridge you can see from Walsh Bay. I like how this particular view frames North Sydney under the structure of the bridge.

Looking toward North Sydney from Walsh Bay (2022) Medium: Ink and water on paper Size: 21cm x 14.85cm (unframed) One of my favourite spots on the Harbour is Walsh Bay, particularly Warf 4/5. There are a number of spectacular spots where I could spend hours sketching and maybe one day I will. But for now, I am content to spend the time I have (usually 10 mins) sketching and making quck impressions of what I am seeing and love looking at.

Nature Solace (2021) Medium: Mixed media (watercolour and pencil) on paper Size: framed 56cm x 46cm (unframed = 42cm x 29.7cm) This work was inspired by a shared family experience. One Saturday morning before we went into hard lockdown, we decided to go on a bush walk in the Royal National Park. It was a beautiful and quiet morning and one that I look back on with great fondness. This work depicts a beautiful gum tree we walked by on the Curra Moors Track and is an expression of that morning, the light, the sounds, and that brief sense of escaping the outside world. It now feels like a distant memory but is a reminder of the many good and simple things we can enjoy, like escaping into nature, to see us through.
Oatley Point Reserve looking towards Como Bridge (2020) Medium: Watercolour and pencil on paper Size: 42cm x 29.7cm (unframed) Oatley Point Reserve became a sacred place during the lockdown. When we were allowed out to exercise, Diana and I took turns (at that stage it was one person out from each household at a time) to walk to this beautiful spot. Usually around 6:30am I would arrive and sit on the rock ledge and look out towards Como bridge.
Park Beach Coffs Harbour (2022) Medium: Watercolour and pencil on paper Size: 21cm x 14.85cm (unframed) Coffs Harbour is a place we always stop on the way up or down as we head towards Murwillumbah or Coolangatta. Recently we have been having dinner at Pub on Ocean drive and after dinner we head to Park Beach for a walk. The girls love running from the waves. This watercolour is painted from a photo of one of those precious moments with the family.

Shelly Beach on a very hot and crowded day (10 January 2024) Medium: watercolour and pencil on paper (sketchbook) Size: 14.8cm x 10.5cm (unframed) It was a very hot and crowded day at Shelly Beach. We travelled to Many by Ferry and walked along the coast. There were so many people, I decided not to swim but instead seek refuge in the shade amongst the brush turkeys!
